These unique, one-of-a-kind spurs were created for Darla Rhodes. Darla and her husband Joe are well-known across the Southwest as the owners of Joe's Boot Shop. Joe has collected spurs for many years. When Darla chose to begin her collection, she requested that a cowboy boot design be incorporated into the spurs.
The spurs are overlaid with sterling silver and 14 carat gold mountings, and highlighted with 154 bright-cut diamonds, totaling 5 carats, set by Danny Woodward.
The pair of spurs shown above is a collaborative effort by five well-known makers -- Billy Klapper built the spurs, then Billy, Russell Yates, Matt Humphreys, and Stewart Williamson each mounted and engraved a side of one of the spurs. The rowels were made more than 30 years ago by Adolph Bayers, and given to J. Martin Basinger, who donated them for this project.
